The Scary Part of Googling Myself

Since I started creating online content, I knew that there would always be an internet trail of me and my posts. I did not expect to learn new things about myself when I Googled my name (aka not true things). The fact that companies were posting my stories and making things up without notifying me was kind of wild, in the same way that my face was used on a billboard, and I had no idea until someone sent me a picture. This goes to show that despite what you may think, you have no rights to your own content in most cases.

After a year of not searching my name, I decided to try again and see what new things pop up, since last time an article about me supposedly "going topless" was posted. How people come up with this stuff for clickbait, I have no idea.

Messnamedmichelle New York Post

Here are some of the random things that popped up when I searched "messnamedmichelle," other than my social media accounts:

When I Google my full name, some other random stuff pops up:

Anyways, most of this stuff is new since the last time I bothered to search my name, and after reading some of the news stories - some information is false. Funnily enough, when the news story about my dating stamp when viral originally, some random guy dm'ed the article to my boyfriend claiming I was cheating (which is obviously not true).

Take Away - don't believe everything you read online. Fact check if you can!
