Today had been quite the whirlwind. Nonetheless, we had one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. We went to Pure Bread, a bakery and cafe in Whistler Village. For the savoury portion, I had a jalapeño cheddar scone and dessert was a pecan sticky bun! It's one of the must tries in Whistler and now I know why.
Our next stop was Green Lake, which is pretty much surrounded by some of the nicest log cabin mansions you will ever see. The lake is less green than I thought it would be, but still gorgeous. It's also only a five minute drive from the village.
After a 35 minute drive south to Squamish, BC, we went on the Sea to Sky Gondola. There is also a Peak to Peak Gondola worth checking out in Whistler, but it was still closed for the season. Either way, the Sea to Sky one has insane views and lots of lookouts, hikes, and a suspension bridge at the top. It is also next to Shannon Falls (which I visited yesterday), so you can kill two birds with one stone if you want.
The gondola ride was followed by a great surprise. Somewhere along the way, we ran over a nail and got a flat. So the next few hours were spent trying to get the tire repaired. After a lengthy repair...we headed to Horeshoe Bay Ferry Port to catch a trip over to Nainamo, BC. It's been an interesting day to say the least, but tomorrow we are on Vancouver Island!
